Beavis, can you spare a dime?
Breaking: Twenty-somethings, reality collide. MSNBC: "Generation Y job-seekers hit hard". Excerpt:
Younger workers are finding out the hard way that they have to hustle to land their dream job, says Debra Condren, business psychologist and author of “Ambition Is Not A Dirty Word.”
“These young adults don’t know how to jump in and be aggressive,” she says.
Query: If they're not proactive and aggressive, would you want these workers at your shop even in "good times"?

Wow, a person from an older generation thinks people from younger generations are coddled and lazy... someone get this man a Pulitzer!
Today's 20-somethings are the most over-scheduled and over-tested generation to date. It's far harder to get into college, harder to get into grad school and first apartments are far more expensive compared to 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Yes, we have iPods and PlayStations, but there is no reason that the young adults of yesteryear would have turned them away had those gadgets existed then. Do we whine sometimes? Yes, including when reporters ask us to do so.
I look forward to writing an article decades from now decrying the next generation's supposed sloth in the face of a recession caused by MY generation's hubris and misplaced trust.
Now get off my lawn!

While I agree with the sentiment, the Beavis & Butthead reference is off for this particular generation by about a decade.
